Internationally acclaimed as among the most innovative and profound artists of his generation, Jaume Plensa is the subject of a major exhibition at Meijer Gardens, with work on display in the galleries, across the gardens, and in the Lena Meijer Conservatory and the Sculpture Park.

This display, exclusive to Meijer Gardens, explores the role of language, text and communication through sculpture. Most important is how the artist leads us to a greater understanding of what unites humanity. Planned events include a celebration of the recent permanent placement of I, you, she, or he..., as well as a sculpture installation with the unique opportunity for audience interaction.

Based in Spain, Plensa has numerous iconic sculptures across the globe including his most famous work Crown Fountain in Chicago’s Millennium Park. This exhibition, the artist’s largest in the United States to date, is presented in conjunction with the artist and Richard Gray Gallery, Chicago and New York. The opening also coincides with the 21st International Sculpture Conference where Plensa is the keynote speaker.
